<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">For this week's <a href="http://casology.blogspot.ca/2018/05/week-299-marine.html" target="_blank">CASology Challenge</a>, I wanted to update the look on a <a href="https://precious-sentiments.blogspot.com/2012/05/its-been-whale.html" target="_blank">card</a> I made a long, loooong time ago using the same whale die cut and from Papertrey Ink's Whale Wishes set. Back then, I hand cut the waves from blue cardstock. This time around, I used Mama Elephant's Hillside Cover Die Cut and color blended the pieces with different shades of blue from Mama Elephant inks as well. </span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Hi everyone! One of my dear friends is expecting a little baby girl so I made this card for her and her growing family. I just got a stash of Mama Elephant stamps (which I'm super excited to use soon) and one of those sets was the Mama Elephant Swinging Borders. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br /></span><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiX8PWfXLMEq6hmQj2Bx_ABoSEU09Ssl2u3fyjCext1keSSrfQL0uBoiwIuICSf_GCi3FWMCqSnqMQaTBgbrQb0lnQrEn6uAFwLPYOXCxgLd-XSQf46VFDw8PEVIxZqHNevXUvSKESVtkdY/s1600/IMG_3273.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1067" data-original-width="1600" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiX8PWfXLMEq6hmQj2Bx_ABoSEU09Ssl2u3fyjCext1keSSrfQL0uBoiwIuICSf_GCi3FWMCqSnqMQaTBgbrQb0lnQrEn6uAFwLPYOXCxgLd-XSQf46VFDw8PEVIxZqHNevXUvSKESVtkdY/s640/IMG_3273.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">For the lettering, I didn't have a small enough alphabet stamp set so I free-handed the letters using Pentel Fude Touch Sign Pen in Black. </span></div>

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">The other stamp sets I used were the Mama Elephant's Nursery Deco and Papertrey Ink's Back To School sets. The book didn't have an outline and looked out of place so I drew a black outline.</span></div>

<div>
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Bonjour!</span><br />
<div>
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">And that's how far my French goes. Well, that and 'merci.' For this week's <a href="http://colorthrowdown.blogspot.com/2018/04/color-throwdown-488.html" target="_blank">Color Throwdown challenge</a>, I decided to make a thank you card using the sentiment from Mama Elephant's Merci stamp set along with the flowers from Papertrey Ink's Ruby Reprise and Stampin' Up's! Eastern Blooms sets. Flowers all over the place.</span></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHwal7ZDEHdlBDtzYTLoP_EAFDyJqYrGDCK5yjWL14rXFyb4DHBL4mdeF-hMVAAI3BWeMydZLU91v8hjW03TKtUSVSOmeuF8h_ipugKFW4hjl64dpVfI4ED0mg1VdnGuMsrqOuFSpezNBl/s1600/IMG_3264.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1067" data-original-width="1600" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHwal7ZDEHdlBDtzYTLoP_EAFDyJqYrGDCK5yjWL14rXFyb4DHBL4mdeF-hMVAAI3BWeMydZLU91v8hjW03TKtUSVSOmeuF8h_ipugKFW4hjl64dpVfI4ED0mg1VdnGuMsrqOuFSpezNBl/s640/IMG_3264.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">However, I still felt like there were gaps here and there, so I decided to use some "filler" stamps to help make those spaces not so open. I used a tiny little dot from Papertrey Ink's Mat Stack 4 set and then a tiny little flower from Mama Elephant's Mini Messages.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Thanks for stopping by!</span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Hi! I've been trying to improve the ink blending technique lately. It's taken a lot of practice and I'm still working on it. I like using the Ranger Mini Blending Tools and the Distress Inks to help achieve the effect on white cardstock.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGvtMjeUXfvkYkoAhn3RmuvlDlEhSwHlLSJhYfsA-dioajm7uyfdorE3IGO9bL5BtCyLyeRoPlutpfJqUYC3-Z5SkF2rvOXF49wABySnp7DGU1ItUzsAjB4_NrdPOcIAGDIAKvP26hcmuL/s1600/IMG_3348.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGvtMjeUXfvkYkoAhn3RmuvlDlEhSwHlLSJhYfsA-dioajm7uyfdorE3IGO9bL5BtCyLyeRoPlutpfJqUYC3-Z5SkF2rvOXF49wABySnp7DGU1ItUzsAjB4_NrdPOcIAGDIAKvP26hcmuL/s640/IMG_3348.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">The craft sheet underneath the card helps keep the mess in place and I just wipe it down with baby wipes. Easy peasy. Once I finished blending and waiting for it to dry, I used the Papertrey Ink Hexagon die to cut a plethora of hexagons. I still have the negative die of the cut. I'll try to use it for another card. Someday. :)</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWS71FqaLeiTlVaqSQRFN0VnHGc90MdT-DKKXskoio6Y_Gsd0A_xDjNECXzeDP767dL0pzSMaywDQj-edCDtOmGpukje74Oj01U8DzbBusWY2H0bhuSf0MZ5c0bmEG9FOq1EjRQY3bl_gT/s1600/IMG_3350.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWS71FqaLeiTlVaqSQRFN0VnHGc90MdT-DKKXskoio6Y_Gsd0A_xDjNECXzeDP767dL0pzSMaywDQj-edCDtOmGpukje74Oj01U8DzbBusWY2H0bhuSf0MZ5c0bmEG9FOq1EjRQY3bl_gT/s640/IMG_3350.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Now comes the tedious part. I taped the hexagons onto black cardstock. I used the negative piece of the die to make sure that the hexagons were spaced evenly. Next, I die cut the word "birthday" from Mama Elephant's Birthday Script from white cardstock. To create a little more dimension, I die cut the sentiment two more times and then glued the pieces together. I learned this technique from <a href="http://www.laurafadora.com/" target="_blank">Laura Bassen's blog</a>. If you haven't visited Lauren's blog, you really should. I l just love her style.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Finally, I stamped the "happy" sentiment from one of Mama Elephant's Mini Message stamps. <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Greetings! When I stumbled upon the Honor Student and Magic Class stamp sets from The Greeting Farm, I knew I had to have them. I've always been a huge fan of the Harry Potter series. Like a ridiculous fan. To the point where I incorporated it into <strike>my</strike> our wedding. My husband was very supportive. Yep, he's a keeper. (and I'm a seeker... Get it? Hrrr hrrr hrr). Speaking of Quidditch... Our wedding cake toppers were one of the Harry Potter-esque things I snuck into the wedding. Well, at least my cake topper. He wanted Deadpool. Oh, and did I mention part of my bachelorette weekend was spent with my girlfriends at Universal Studios Hollywood Wizarding World of Harry Potter? We're all fans. That's why we're friends.</span><span style="text-align: center;"> </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiK2S0726HhkTlZDLiVAOka2bnmEeqqdShK-FXuvzoWU-Wuburd-PGQ6bopP03hc_3NMdb4krPc5ZZ0IEz3FQ-ePvtcy5Ipsv9Yt3ZLnSzpoGwn4cJs_7R7NH1X8eOY3nJozh4yN8kTcKQJ/s1600/PF623.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1067" data-original-width="1600" height="425" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiK2S0726HhkTlZDLiVAOka2bnmEeqqdShK-FXuvzoWU-Wuburd-PGQ6bopP03hc_3NMdb4krPc5ZZ0IEz3FQ-ePvtcy5Ipsv9Yt3ZLnSzpoGwn4cJs_7R7NH1X8eOY3nJozh4yN8kTcKQJ/s640/PF623.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">*Sigh* I digress... </span><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">The whole reason I'm posting is because it was my stepdaughter's birthday this past week and she's a fan as well. So I thought it was fitting to make this card for her birthday. And she loves puns. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">First, I blended the background using the Ranger Mini Blending Tools to blend together Distress Inks in Peacock Feather, Broken China, and Evergreen Bough. While that was drying, I stamped the characters with Papertrey Ink's Smokey Shadow on separate white cardstock and used Copic markers to color them in. Ron's hair looks too red to me, so I think I'll darken it a little next time. Next, I fussy-cut around them and set them aside to dry. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">For the sentiment, I heat embossed with Ranger Embossing Powder in Black Sparkle. You can kind of see it pop off the background in the picture below. I also stamped a wand next to the sentiment to make it look like an exclamation point. I stamped and embossed the sentiment onto the blended background before I glued on my favorite people. Once everything was assembled, I adhered it onto white cardstock with foam tape.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">One can never have enough birthday cards. Here is my card for this week's <a href="http://colorthrowdown.blogspot.com/2018/02/color-throwdown-482.html" target="_blank">Color Throwdown</a> and <a href="http://www.cardchallenges.com/2018/02/wednesday-sketch-challenge-sketch-374.html" target="_blank">MFT Card Sketch</a> challenges. First I die cut My Favorite Things Stitched Rectangle Frame and then laid it on top of the card to pencil an outline of the inside part of the frame. Then I masked the outer border of the base of the card so that as I stamped, the images would remain inside the frame. The stamps and balloon I used comes from Papertrey Ink's Birthday Style set and the sentiment comes from PTI's Birthday Basics set. It was a perfect fit within the framed border. The colors come from Mama Elephant's Moonlight, Brown Sugar, and Blush. </span></div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Well hello there! I've combined the challenges for <a href="http://cas-ualfridays.blogspot.com/2018/03/cfc-194-beautiful-rainbows.html" target="_blank">CAS-ual Friday </a>and <a href="https://casethissketch.blogspot.com/2018/03/case-this-sketch-261.html" target="_blank">CAS(E) This Sketch </a>for the week. We've had a little bit of gloomy weather here in San Diego, but that's nothing compared to what people are experiencing in the Northeast. I hope you're staying nice and cozy if you're in those parts. There is one thing to look forward to after a storm clears - lovely rainbows! </span></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">My take on rainbows incorporates the chevron die from Papertrey Ink. I used the skinnier die from the set and die cut pieces from various PTI cardstock from the different colors of the rainbow. Once everything was lined up, I glued down the pieces with Tim Holtz Ranger Distress Collage Medium Matte onto the PTI Soft Stone base cardstock. As you can see from the picture below, t</span><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">he pieces were a little longer than the width of the cardstock to make it easier for me to line up the pieces.</span><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"> I trimmed the edges down using an X-acto knife.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghlDpla5NdZv7PEoJCz-TOwpCwdhMSEboxRyPgu9LDuMs6SzyO1WCZuVZ7h0aFga5zPGqiF1S3LFxrbz0xhiH7xp6lfKTQ-423cEDADslb6MSzk6sPCkQypeTDUsQ1DRDpLiThHa4tO4Nc/s1600/fullsizeoutput_12b9.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1070" data-original-width="1600" height="428" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghlDpla5NdZv7PEoJCz-TOwpCwdhMSEboxRyPgu9LDuMs6SzyO1WCZuVZ7h0aFga5zPGqiF1S3LFxrbz0xhiH7xp6lfKTQ-423cEDADslb6MSzk6sPCkQypeTDUsQ1DRDpLiThHa4tO4Nc/s640/fullsizeoutput_12b9.jpeg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcW7JobNQQL0-yWiF6PNv5eTwBEFfESCUMdv97GOPL9fYKY3w27TDfoKFG1d3MQQNm3AWmBQ5nZZK5dzb6kL_1u9fDTcY-Lb-4gV5ETuOK7_jgwaKo32DZS0rQ4xtmIBNGzGrp4lot9u6b/s1600/fullsizeoutput_12ba.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1486" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcW7JobNQQL0-yWiF6PNv5eTwBEFfESCUMdv97GOPL9fYKY3w27TDfoKFG1d3MQQNm3AWmBQ5nZZK5dzb6kL_1u9fDTcY-Lb-4gV5ETuOK7_jgwaKo32DZS0rQ4xtmIBNGzGrp4lot9u6b/s640/fullsizeoutput_12ba.jpeg" width="594" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"></span></div>
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">To keep the focus on the rainbow, I kept the hot air balloons white. But I couldn't just keep it plain white. You know me, I had to make it sparkly. After stamping the image from PTI's Up, Up, & Away set, in clear VersaMark, I then used Stampin' Up's Heat & Stick Powder and gave the blast of heat to make the image tacky. Then I sprinkled Martha Stewart's Fine Glitter in Crystal Fine to give the image just a touch of sparkliness (yes, that's a word in my vocabulary).</span><br />

<div>
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Calling all dog lovers! I'm using this card for both the <a href="http://cas-ualfridays.blogspot.com/2018/02/cfc-193.html" target="_blank">CAS-ual Friday challenge</a> and the <a href="http://casology.blogspot.ca/2018/02/week-288-pun.html" target="_blank">Casology challenge</a> for the week. This card pays homage to man's best friend. I wish I had a dog. The one at the top of the card would melt my heart. Or a corgi. Okay. Definitely a corgi. </span><br />
<div>
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">For this card, I first stamped these little guys from Mama Elephant's Playful Pups set and die-cut with the coordinating dies. Next, I colored them in using Copic markers. Below is a picture of the pups before I trimmed them and arranged them on the card. Aren't they cute? I want to hug them, and squeeze them, and love them all the live long day.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7CvyUsjjfN7CC0fIznb76Is4aSgHcXJMmzyUdyS_4c_AwJQyNnkyK1u2kKQXYeASfJbbgC8Ny2nhkc6yXbREr3lXOQnO6K_UZm40JIXfj2f8brX6rb_OoRuONnsgDM0_AOxV1Q6G1YdI5/s1600/fullsizeoutput_12ac.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1067" data-original-width="1600" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7CvyUsjjfN7CC0fIznb76Is4aSgHcXJMmzyUdyS_4c_AwJQyNnkyK1u2kKQXYeASfJbbgC8Ny2nhkc6yXbREr3lXOQnO6K_UZm40JIXfj2f8brX6rb_OoRuONnsgDM0_AOxV1Q6G1YdI5/s640/fullsizeoutput_12ac.jpeg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I wanted to create a window effect with the pups popping out of every direction and doing what puppies do best - being mischievous and lovable at the same time, so I die cut a stitched border from Lawn Fawn's stitched border collection onto Papertrey Ink's Soft Stone cardstock and die cut the trio of windows with PTI's Take Three die. </span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Next, I used Ranger's Mini Ink Blending Tools to blend in the different colored backgrounds peeking through the windows. The colors I used were Mama Elephant's Ocean, Buttercup and Bubblegum. Then, I die cut a flag banner on black cardstock and stamped the punny sentiment in PTI's Fresh Snow. The sentiment wasn't as bright as I wanted it to be so I then embossed over it with Ranger Embossing Powder in Polysparkle. It's hard to tell that there's a little glittery goodness, but maybe you could see it a little better in the picture below.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQAwdSUe1cahcVRaAdapj1IIKLLWGJRU4ftXlT2RxkZ62fOTDpA93PcckaoK8CTFG4cseR6MZAJRXGGArT-YGlI4GufBM8xoSGmMhAXYD_FA8fL6cfr3-8b64eT8M5VNvnLZ9XUSZtRUvu/s1600/fullsizeoutput_12ae.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1067" data-original-width="1600" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQAwdSUe1cahcVRaAdapj1IIKLLWGJRU4ftXlT2RxkZ62fOTDpA93PcckaoK8CTFG4cseR6MZAJRXGGArT-YGlI4GufBM8xoSGmMhAXYD_FA8fL6cfr3-8b64eT8M5VNvnLZ9XUSZtRUvu/s640/fullsizeoutput_12ae.jpeg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Then, I arranged and glued the puppies, each popping out of their own window to say hi. For the little guy at the bottom, I used an X-acto knife to cut around the envelope he's holding and had that hang over the window. Finally, I used foam tape to fix the sentiment onto the card.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I hope you enjoy the card and thanks for stopping by!</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Hello again! Here's my second post for the day for <a href="http://casology.blogspot.ca/2018/02/week-287-together.html" target="_blank">CASology's challenge</a>. How cute is Simon Says Stamps' Breakfast Buddies set? There were so many stamps to choose from in the set, but I settled on the bacon and eggs sentiment. Well, because, who doesn't love bacon and eggs?</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJ_Iz2txSbtPF7lOiv7fsrVqmp2fKMeFYBvW8zMK67JK3c5MMqjDPUWTNS2x67RFp70uY2JDIDQFT024JVXIeoCEYHv9Iw8aPe_8R4d14p_mvt2DZKM5wYZqYnFTZgwWAouTi2Vp25BD8u/s1600/fullsizeoutput_12a3.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1067" data-original-width="1600" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJ_Iz2txSbtPF7lOiv7fsrVqmp2fKMeFYBvW8zMK67JK3c5MMqjDPUWTNS2x67RFp70uY2JDIDQFT024JVXIeoCEYHv9Iw8aPe_8R4d14p_mvt2DZKM5wYZqYnFTZgwWAouTi2Vp25BD8u/s640/fullsizeoutput_12a3.jpeg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I stamped the images and sentiment in Papertrey Ink's Smokey Shadow. By masking the eggs, I then stamped the bacon images to make it look like they were behind their eggy friends. I hated doing this, but I ended up cutting the bacon stamp in half so that I could stamp the images at different angles. To give these guys a little more personality, I drew little legs and attempted to make it look as if my breakfast was dancing. Lastly, I colored them in with Copic markers.</span></div>

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Hiya! I've got two posts for today. The first one combines the week's <a href="http://colorthrowdown.blogspot.com/2018/02/color-throwdown-480.html" target="_blank">Color Throwdown</a> & <a href="https://casethissketch.blogspot.com/2018/02/case-this-sketch-259.html" target="_blank">CAS(E) this Sketch!</a> challenges. I stamped the peonies from Papertrey Ink's Rosie Posie in Mama Elephant's Sweet Lilac and Eggplant while the leaves were stamped in Papertrey Ink's Simply Chartreuse. To create the trellis strip, I masked off the top left of the card and blended in Simon Says Diagonal Stripe stencil in Mama Elephant's Smoke. I then rotated the stencil and then blended again to create the criss-cross effect. The sentiment comes from Stampin' Up!'s Thanks For Caring set stamped in Papertrey Ink's Smokey Shadow. I used foam tape to adhere the smaller peony and leaf to pop them off the card.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Valentine's Day is just around the corner! This week's card combines two different challenges - <a href="http://cas-ualfridays.blogspot.com/2018/02/cfc-192.html" target="_blank">CAS-ual Friday's</a> and <a href="http://colorthrowdown.blogspot.com/2018/02/color-throwdown-countdown-479.html" target="_blank">Color Throwdown's</a>. I stamped one of the umbrella's from Papertrey Ink's Scattered Showers in Mama Elephant's Smoke and then stamped the sentiment in Papertrey Ink's Smokey Shadow. Isn't that sentiment just lovely? </span></div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNpzYqMpSj7-8OVdcTXxxccNibXu9CAoXM0UPBFgQnNMdK46EJeAT2-JPLdy-lcF-eX07hbsFoBrnUnNLjVZ2FH9Ear25fWwNbRH2_WmEbvMqoaK9izD_Bf-mATBktwKAbm3pTP2Cr8XsT/s1600/fullsizeoutput_1296.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1067" data-original-width="1600" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNpzYqMpSj7-8OVdcTXxxccNibXu9CAoXM0UPBFgQnNMdK46EJeAT2-JPLdy-lcF-eX07hbsFoBrnUnNLjVZ2FH9Ear25fWwNbRH2_WmEbvMqoaK9izD_Bf-mATBktwKAbm3pTP2Cr8XsT/s640/fullsizeoutput_1296.jpeg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Now for the tedious part. I've always loved the Falling Hearts die from Simon Says Stamp. I die cut in pink and red cardstock and poked out all of the tiny hearts. I had it mainly raining pink hearts but I scattered a few red ones here and there. To make sure the hearts lined up the same way it did in the die cut, I laid the negative space on top of the card and then glued and placed the hearts in their spots. </span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">Love is in the air! Or in the kitchen :) For CASology's challenge this <a href="http://casology.blogspot.ca/2018/01/week-285-swoon.html" target="_blank">week</a>, I'm using an oldie but goodie set - Stampin' Up!'s Comfort Food. I've used the "I loaf you" stamp a few times, but I also wanted to incorporate the other stamps in the set.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">To keep the loaf stamp as the focal point, I stamped the other stamps in the set a light gray and masked the main stamp to keep the others in the background. <span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I love coffee, so I thought this <a href="http://cas-ualfridays.blogspot.com/2018/01/cfc-191-more-coffee-please.html" target="_blank">CAS-ual Friday challenge</a> seemed fitting. To create the endless stack of coffee mugs, I used the masking technique on the stack of mugs from Papertrey Ink's Latte Love stamp set. Then I colored these in with Copic markers. By the way, I'm still learning how to color and shade, so I apologize for lack of technique. Afterwards, I cut out the image and adhered it onto gray cardstock with foam tape. Finally, I stamped one of the sentiments from the stamp set to finish off the card.</span></div>

<br />
I love shiny things, so this week's <a href="http://casology.blogspot.ca/2018/01/week-283-glimmer.html" target="_blank">CASology challenge</a> seemed appropriate. Since I used glitter for a challenge I participated in last week, I thought I'd go with sequins for this one. First, I die cut a stitched rectangle using Lawn Fawn's Stitched Rectangle Die and then stamped the tree and birthday sentiment from Papertrey Ink's Trendy Tree Tops set in Mama Elephant Smoke ink. Then, using the coordinating dies, I cut out a circle where the sequins would peek through.<br />

<br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"></span><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-family: inherit;">Hmm. I'm sensing a pattern. </span></span></div>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">
</span>
<br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"></span><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-family: inherit;">I know it's been a while (almost 4 years!!). And I'm sure that's what I said last time, too. But the past few months, I've been reflecting on what I think is important in my life. And one of those things is making cards. </span><span style="font-family: inherit;">Even though it takes me eons to design and make a card, I find joy in creating something that puts a smile on someone's face. </span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-family: inherit;">It's not that I wasn't making cards. It's the fact that I had a heck of a time posting cards online. Let's face it. I was lazy. </span></span></div>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">
</span>
<br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"></span><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-family: inherit;">With that said, I'm attempting to start this blog back up again. Phew! Now that I've gotten that off my chest, let's move on to the card I made for CAS-ual Fridays latest challenge: All That Glitters.</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1FaOJUuSptfnf_f_6u8R7YzF7cEnM4wfDZjkI5Pw91jD66Yj-zPqUl1TDYB4PnRTpnBO5NUlUethIChdsEJUxa6vrun57gZplt328naDbql2Ip-znl5ZBUE9uoxUrBWX9qmdBr76ocYB3/s1600/fullsizeoutput_127b.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1067" data-original-width="1600" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1FaOJUuSptfnf_f_6u8R7YzF7cEnM4wfDZjkI5Pw91jD66Yj-zPqUl1TDYB4PnRTpnBO5NUlUethIChdsEJUxa6vrun57gZplt328naDbql2Ip-znl5ZBUE9uoxUrBWX9qmdBr76ocYB3/s640/fullsizeoutput_127b.jpeg" width="640" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-family: inherit;">I. Love. Glitter.</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhRYpEsrYWekHLRpYqLTZcOlKGPYmco9InXVJOaQ3pfnoCbEoF0unIsgHhW4LNNeZGGNb9_syq4YOdDum5gGXPdqTy6m8oKS6ewFxV4swwr8cYFFVVBEHNdrs5LFfBdcSC_OvqtsSBPAKg8/s1600/fullsizeoutput_1276.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1067" data-original-width="1600" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhRYpEsrYWekHLRpYqLTZcOlKGPYmco9InXVJOaQ3pfnoCbEoF0unIsgHhW4LNNeZGGNb9_syq4YOdDum5gGXPdqTy6m8oKS6ewFxV4swwr8cYFFVVBEHNdrs5LFfBdcSC_OvqtsSBPAKg8/s640/fullsizeoutput_1276.jpeg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-family: inherit;">Actually, I like anything that's sparkly. I particularly love Martha Stewart Crafts Fine Glitter, which I used for this challenge. It's so fine and shimmery compared to most glitters I've used. But it does get messy!</span></span></div>
<span style="font-family: inherit;"></span><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-family: inherit;">I decided to make a birthday card incorporating two different stamp sets and stamping the images in Mama Elephant's Smoke ink. I created a monochrome single layer so that the images in glitter would pop up just a little more. For the glitter, I used Martha Stewart Glitter in kunzite for a light pink color to stand out against the smoky gray.</span></span></div>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">
</span>
<br />

<br />
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Why hello again! Whaddya know, 2 posts in one day :) I'm back to post another card for a different challenge. This time it's for <a href="http://cas-ualfridays.blogspot.com/2014/01/cfc125.html" target="_blank">CAS-ual Fridays challenge CFC125</a>. I've participated in their challenges a few times, but I'd like to do this more frequently this year. One of my many resolutions. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS;"></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS;">As I mentioned in my previous post, this is also a "happy" card. Happy is such a versatile word. Happy birthday - happy holidays - happy for you - the list goes on and on. This one was a birthday card for my coworker. On the front of the card, it looks like a simple birthday card.</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhca4BRubw-nv6j4HhgogdFQffZ0FSsISfIlIzWexuntNvH3ot_0SM_Rh1M1UFhdGGdcuXsh9ViXOxkQzxF-MKG4xawGuccFcsj5fMWy6VtRAYdvyWUN6MnURdJuwvF0mDELv17frRrxxiX/s1600/IMG_0205.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhca4BRubw-nv6j4HhgogdFQffZ0FSsISfIlIzWexuntNvH3ot_0SM_Rh1M1UFhdGGdcuXsh9ViXOxkQzxF-MKG4xawGuccFcsj5fMWy6VtRAYdvyWUN6MnURdJuwvF0mDELv17frRrxxiX/s320/IMG_0205.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">But when you open it... Bam! Parrrrtay! I used Papertrey Ink's Movers and Shakers Happy Die as well as their Birthday Styles stamp set. I love, love, love this stamp set and it's coordinating dies. The balloons and decorations were stamped using Papertrey Ink's Aqua Mist, Stampin' Ups Regal Rose and Barely Banana, and Tsukineko's chalk ink in Pixie Dust.</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjv8in9OjsMXb1c9JxK5FR4kotJ_1udMA5ZbOAC3JUbxw3uuGnQRUyjyy0KV-5tkF4gyt8VTYNsyuT-do1JHJ7dQXvsQ6plj7MTx235heaLFXysbhNWi_LPExBFSNWH_0QEoFZ1ohqSz5FS/s1600/IMG_0206.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjv8in9OjsMXb1c9JxK5FR4kotJ_1udMA5ZbOAC3JUbxw3uuGnQRUyjyy0KV-5tkF4gyt8VTYNsyuT-do1JHJ7dQXvsQ6plj7MTx235heaLFXysbhNWi_LPExBFSNWH_0QEoFZ1ohqSz5FS/s320/IMG_0206.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS;"></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS;">I also made the candle "pop" out a little bit. You can see it a little better from the picture below.</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiEMEu4DR4U4d6cmVeXaw1A8niEminPKRK1TNt3lDF6BsEf6b_xYRW4yLT0Uujp-kmn4YYuYqXG3l7POtTRl4Bu_7zG5vmqysidt9qBheIiY6hext8eJlh0FLZW140ZR0Wmcwh7oax3jUpF/s1600/IMG_0207.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiEMEu4DR4U4d6cmVeXaw1A8niEminPKRK1TNt3lDF6BsEf6b_xYRW4yLT0Uujp-kmn4YYuYqXG3l7POtTRl4Bu_7zG5vmqysidt9qBheIiY6hext8eJlh0FLZW140ZR0Wmcwh7oax3jUpF/s320/IMG_0207.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">The birthday I stamped along the edge of the die came from Papertrey Ink's Birthday Basics set. I also glued a little bit of Regal Rose cardstock between the 2 white layers to add a pop of color behind the "Happy" die. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS;"></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS;">Happy cheers to you!</span><br />

<br />
Yowza! Has it already been over a year since my last post? I know I always say that I'll try to change that habit but who am I kidding? All I can say is that I will try my bestest to post. I'm pretty sure I've said that before, too. :) Anyhoo, here's my card for the latest <a href="http://cas-ualfridays.blogspot.com/2013/11/cfc119.html" target="_blank">CAS-ual Friday Challenge CFC119</a>! The mission (if we chose to accept it) was to create a card using the embossing technique - either dry or heat. For my card, I chose to do both. The little snowmen were dry embossed and I used scratch paper and gently scratched away on the accents to create a little more texture. You can really tell on the hats.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh5iDd9GXl532Je-X8HEncuUeOxHL20nQi14uy76MCGrTQX3fvODI5UZ0T6oD7nBnyzaDmjt5LV0ibN6C6WkFXuWLMw8PTN6AhGlYs2HAMQzpZeSPGvuLC6lI3ZDtj77E-tqOWt9k4omhyO/s1600/IMG_1484.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="221" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh5iDd9GXl532Je-X8HEncuUeOxHL20nQi14uy76MCGrTQX3fvODI5UZ0T6oD7nBnyzaDmjt5LV0ibN6C6WkFXuWLMw8PTN6AhGlYs2HAMQzpZeSPGvuLC6lI3ZDtj77E-tqOWt9k4omhyO/s400/IMG_1484.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
For the background, I stamped snowflakes from Papertrey Ink's Winter Penguin mini stamp set on Aqua Mist cardstock (also from PTI) and then heat embossed with some white powder.<br />

<span style="font-family: Calibri;"><span style="font-size: small;">As part of this week's <a href="http://cas-ualfridays.blogspot.com/2012/10/cfc76.html" target="_blank">CAS-ual Friday challenge</a>, I wanted to post a card I made for my boss for her birthday. Her favorite season is fall (which is fitting since her birthday falls in October) so I wanted to incorporate autumn colors into the card. I used kraft cardstock for the base and die-cut the Happy die from Papertrey Ink’s Movers and Shakers Poppers Die collection.</span></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEit0ZxhVBARgqw1qTGDTz8HBz2GJYbvCWTzIUS-m2kSNdodCM-FHUBmpIvzPmF2rhqVl1lWOoMwby09_DAzMIW4qd9a6NsVuGTzNcplTRIsF2uwgIiwd25kUZmPlfS_jIDtFFz67wbCOnYa/s1600/Fall+Birthday+3.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEit0ZxhVBARgqw1qTGDTz8HBz2GJYbvCWTzIUS-m2kSNdodCM-FHUBmpIvzPmF2rhqVl1lWOoMwby09_DAzMIW4qd9a6NsVuGTzNcplTRIsF2uwgIiwd25kUZmPlfS_jIDtFFz67wbCOnYa/s400/Fall+Birthday+3.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>

<span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;"></span><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri;"><span style="font-size: small;">Behind the letters, I used strips of tape adhesive and lined them up vertically along the width of the card. For each strip, I sprinkled on some glitter from Martha Stewart’s glitter collection using the greens, yellows, oranges, and reds. I then stamped “birthday” from PTI’s Framed Stamp Set in Stampin’ Up’s Pumpkin Pie all along the bottom of the card. To keep the glitter from getting all over the place, I adhered some acetate paper behind the front base of the card.</span></span></div>
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;"></span><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">The card still looked a little plan to me so I embellished it with SU’s Pumpkin Pie satin ribbon. Here’s a tip, to keep the ribbon from moving around, I adhered a little sticky dot right behind the knot </span><span style="font-family: Wingdings;">J</span><span style="font-family: Calibri;"> </span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">

<br />
I'm amazed by what people can come up with these days. I saw this <a href="http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/capture_the_moment/2012/03/make-it-monday-56-die-cutting-partial-images.html" target="_blank">partial die cutting technique</a> and so many ideas started running in my head for birthday cards, thank you cards, baby cards... For this post, I thought I would try it for a congratulatory card for a graduate. However, with the colors I ended up using, it kind of looks like a congratulations card for a wedding. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhapItLLMDV-eZS7rPX_OEBRgqTeqgGZq_oGpXnLpbx38XqGPHjL5a9ePNd1iV7M2gyh8289GWDTM1bxuMO-BHhhhsix7cRksVeS-5cnTgjvjoGnYHUBiV4UJnFSgs2CjKaR0cWgLrMYNdN/s1600/partial+die+-+congrats+1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhapItLLMDV-eZS7rPX_OEBRgqTeqgGZq_oGpXnLpbx38XqGPHjL5a9ePNd1iV7M2gyh8289GWDTM1bxuMO-BHhhhsix7cRksVeS-5cnTgjvjoGnYHUBiV4UJnFSgs2CjKaR0cWgLrMYNdN/s400/partial+die+-+congrats+1.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
After die cutting the letters onto the Basic Gray cardstock, I stuck it on top using dimensionals. You can kind of see it better in the picture below. I wrapped white satin ribbon around it and glued a few flowers from the Eastern Blooms stamp set by Stampin' Up! that I stamped on white cardstock and cut out. Enjoy!<br />

But it really has. Lots of changes the past year. New car... New job... New place... New love. All for the better :) After seeing this <a href="http://mailebelles.blogspot.com/2012/04/papertrey-ink-april-release-projects.html" target="_blank">post</a>, I felt inspired to make a card using the same layering technique. If you have not visited Maile Belle's blog, <a href="http://mailebelles.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Simply Stamped</a>, I suggest you take a peek. I love her style of making cards.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBG5WjhCdBRNncjgOiRVP4mLeuL00-8Ws67HIiz7FwgSprUFSpmltl7OpuVOqBTP17cd273KfdEZnuaGED9_oUHfkIJGkvFj_2OEqsRRCHK9oCaxYjUtrNIlW0ShwzmNUSAkJUkIyAXpcB/s1600/whale+wishes+birthday+1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBG5WjhCdBRNncjgOiRVP4mLeuL00-8Ws67HIiz7FwgSprUFSpmltl7OpuVOqBTP17cd273KfdEZnuaGED9_oUHfkIJGkvFj_2OEqsRRCHK9oCaxYjUtrNIlW0ShwzmNUSAkJUkIyAXpcB/s400/whale+wishes+birthday+1.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
So on to the card, shall we? First off, I used white cardstock to make a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" card. To make the waves, cut light blue cardstock into strips 3 3/4" wide. I used a pencil to draw wavy lines and then cut three cards in 3 strips with differing heights. I adhered the longest one directly onto the card. You can't really tell from the picture above, but I used pop-up dimensionals to attach the middle layer. The sentiment, from Papertrey Ink's Whale Wishes stamp set, was stamped in Stampin' Up's Basic Gray. Love this stamp set. The whale is so cute! <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiftM_8c7y3H8VinA4j_X6fMd6Zeqn30gxbz0OHNE1djdp_FT-WU-RL87WAwDztIQCA_WDd91ElCEuMPE5qLzyWEY0-qTlKT6Oil5lcJCHvEHECUWo0l-6HuKXSBftA0esIKsZ5OUo4fNTD/s1600/whale+wishes+birthday+2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiftM_8c7y3H8VinA4j_X6fMd6Zeqn30gxbz0OHNE1djdp_FT-WU-RL87WAwDztIQCA_WDd91ElCEuMPE5qLzyWEY0-qTlKT6Oil5lcJCHvEHECUWo0l-6HuKXSBftA0esIKsZ5OUo4fNTD/s400/whale+wishes+birthday+2.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
I used the coordinating Whale Wishes die to cut out a whale from shiny silver cardstock and I nestled the little guy between the bottom and middle layers. The water spout was stamped with Stampin' Up's Bashful Blue. And there you have it :) Enjoy your day!<br />

Once again... it's been a while :) I made this card a while back as a baby shower invitation. The animals were dry embossed on different colored cardstocks and placed inside a pocket card. I got the pocket card idea through Splitcoaststampers site <a href="http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/pocket_card/">here</a>. <br />

Don't they look scrumdiddlyumptious? If you're not sure what to make for Thanksgiving, I suggest visiting <a href="http://www.browneyedbaker.com/">The Brown-Eyed Baker</a> blog. Lots of delicious recipes. Okay... 'nuff about food. My stomach's starting to rumble. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />

The pillow boxes were cut out using the Pillow Box Sizzix Bigz Die from Stampin' Up! on Kraft cardstock. The sentiment is from the Falling Leaves stamp set and stamped in Chocolate Chip. I love the leaves stamps in that set. I must make sure to use those in a future card soon. :) The pumpkin came from the Been Boo'd stamp set from Papertrey Ink and I stamped that on Whisper White Cardstock. I sponged Pumpkin Pie Ink on the outer part of the circle to create a kind of vintage-y feel to it. Then I matted the circle with Chocolate Chip cardstock. Finally, I used satin ribbon in Pumpkin Pie to wrap around the box and hold the goodies inside. I hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday! This <a href="http://stampincelebration.blogspot.com/2010/10/stampin-celebration-inspiration_28.html">week's challenge</a> for Stampin' Celebration involved a lot of fun vibrant colors. I happened to have a birthday card that I thought would fit the theme. The base of the case was cut from Whisper White cardstock and I used my Cricut Machine and the Create A Critter cartridge to cut out a bunch of balloons in different colors. Then I cut out the word "HAPPY" from my Don Juan cartridge and adhered those to some of the balloons. Inside, I stamped "birthday" from Stampin' Up's Happy Everything stamp set in the same vibrant colors from the front of the card. Anyhoo... Happy Monday. :)<br />

I think the ears make it look more like a Navi from Avatar. But there was some tough competition. Once I can get the pictures of the winners, I'll post them here. There's always next year. I painted it with blue acrylic paint from Michaels and then the spots were painted with white paint. For the eyes, I tried using a yellow highlighter, but it kept getting all over my hands. Initially I wanted to use black pipecleaners but there were all out at Michaels. Luckily I had an epiphany and decided to try black yarn for the hair. Hmm... what should I do next year? I've got 365 days to come up with a winner. :) Happy Halloween my lovelies!<br />

Two posts in a month... this must be a record for me :) I made this card a few months ago. I found it on my memory card when I went to post my Halloween card. I stamped the Trendy Trees stamps on white cardstock and then matted it on top of Chocolate Chip cardstock. In order to make sure the trees were lined up, I used the handy dandy Stamp-a-ma-jig from Stampin' Up. I love that tool. It helps me make sure that everything is lined up and positioned where they're supposed to be. It helped me line up the letters on this <a href="http://precious-sentiments.blogspot.com/2010/05/just-because.html">card</a>. The base of the card was cut from Kraft cardstock. For one of the trees, I stamped the image with Martha Stewart's gluepad and Feldspar glitter. You can see a little better here:<br />

Welp... that's all for now. :) Happy Sunday! Watching Amazing Race. I love that show. I'd like to be a contestant, but you have to have a niche to be on that show. And I don't have one... Yet... :)<br />
